The Nesling Coolfit harmonica shade sails are ideal for your pergola or for the glass roof of your veranda!
The Coolfit fabric passes water, heat and light, to provide a very pleasant shade without getting gloomy. The assembly is relatively simple. Depending on the width of your Coolfit harmonica shade sail, you fix 2, 3 or 4 stainless steel cables (included) between the beams of your pergola or between 2 walls. You slide the shade sail over the cables, put the aluminum reinforcement rods through the sail, pull the rope through the pulleys and tie it to the sail ... done !!!
Keep at least 5 cm free on each side of the shade sail so that the sail does not touch the wall or the beams of your pergola. With a shade sail of 200 cm wide, you therefore need a minimum clear width of 210 cm.
All mounting materials, tensioners, rope and cables are supplied with the Coolfit harmonica shade sail. The supplied stainless steel screws are suitable for softwood, I recommend that you use a heavier quality screw when using hardwood. Bear in mind that the tension cables will be under high tension, so make sure that you have an excellent fixation in the wood or wall to prevent the screws from being pulled out.
The Nesling Coolfit harmonica shade sails are mildew resistant and easy to clean with water, some green soap and a brush, but to prevent a lot of work we recommend that you protect your harmonica sail with the special cover that Nesling has developed for that purpose (not included). The cover can easily be attached with Velcro around the shade sail and it has on the bottom, to allow condensation to drain out and the fabric can also be ventilated in the winter. You can of course also dismantle the canvas in winter, but it is a difficult job to "release" the tensioners. Moreover, in that case you should not cut the stainless steel cables too short, otherwise you will not have enough length the next season to neatly tension the fabric again.
Do you choose to leave your canvas outside without protection? No problem, the Coolfit shade sail withstands, we have several harmonica shade sails hanging outside for many years already! It only gets dirty by birds and leaf loss from trees, which might cause green stains. But simple to clean however!
